Laveria Young (Scott)

Laveria Young Scott was born in Dermott, AK to Albert and Levada Young on May 22, 1944.  She was the youngest of 2 children.  As a young child she was raised to serve the Lord.  She gave her life to Christ and remained a faithful servant.

Laveria moved with her family to Topeka, KS where she attended Topeka High School and Washburn University.  She was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority.  She met and married Ronald L. Scott while in Topeka, KS.  Together they had six beautiful children.  As a military wife she faithfully traveled with her family, eventually calling Washington State her home.

Laveria was very active in her community and dedicated to helping others.  She donated to organizations, fed the homeless and provided a loving home to many foster children.  She was proud to be a Past Most Ancient Grand Matron of the Heronines of Jericho.  She was a dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Stars, The Daughter of Isis, The Guild, The Lily of the West, Elks Lodge, The Golden Circle, and the Golden Eagles.

She leaves to cherish her memory:  Levada Young of Kansas (mother), Albert Young Jr. of Kansas (brother).  Seven children: Alex (Aileen) Scott of WA.,  Traci (Darryl) Lewis of AL.,  Dion (Phoenix) Scott of HI., Michelle Kornegay of WA.,  Teresa (Eddie) Satterwhite of WA.,  Ronald Scott II of WA. and Roman Scott of WA.  Thirteen grandchildren:  Andrey (Ashley) Scott,  Ashlee Scott,  Anthony Scott,  Alonzo Scott,  Asiah Scott,  Shanece Kornegay,  Aaron Scott,  Zaccal Scott,  Edward Satterwhite,  Raivyn Satterwhite,  Jordan Camacho,  Rashid Mohamed and Nadia Scott.  Two Great grandchildren, Aiden Scott and Alijah Williams.  She also leaves behind an extended host of relatives and devoted friends.  One thing we all know for sure is that she loved us all unconditionally.
