Contratulations Classmates
If you're reading this, and have not already achieved your 80th year on this planet, you soon will. We (your reunion committee) think this fact deserves a party. See the details below.
Class 80th Birthday Party
The dates for our THS-TWHS Class of 62, 80th Birthday Party is now set for October 2 - 3, 2024. This is a Wednesday and Thursday which should make airline reservations a little easier for those who will be flying in, and avoid conflict with other weekend activities.
This two day format will be similar to what we did for the 60th Reunion. The Garden House at Lake Shawnee has been reserved from 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 2. A catered barbecue will be provided. Soft drinks plus wine and beer will also be provided at the Wednesday event.
Classmate Marty Mills Shepherd and husband Neil have graciously offered their lakeside home at nearby Lake Wabaunsee, 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm, for the Thursday celebration. Food and soft drinks will be provided. Those who wish to raise their spirits may BYOB. In addition to enjoying the Flint Hills vista and the lakeside ambience, those interested in riding a jet ski, taking a boat ride or paddling a kayak will also have that opportunity. Dick Thornburg will be taking reservation for those interested in playing golf at the Lake Wabaunsee golf course Thursday morning.
Arrangements are being made with the Springhill Suites again for special pricing. Those of you attending the 60th reunion will remember what a wonderful time we had visiting with each other around the breakfast/cocktail lounge at the hotel.
Please email me at tgormail90@gmail.com if you are interested in attending either or both days. When we get a good idea of the number attending we will confirm the registration fee, but it should be modest. I will then either mail you the registration form; or if you prefer, send you an email with a .pdf of the registration form attached which you can then print out, complete and mail to me with your check. Let me know which method you would prefer. We'll look forward to seeing you in October as we all start our next decade as Octogenarians and celebrate the fact that we made it this far.
