Dallas – Richard “Dick” Leland Townley, 53, Dallas, died Tuesday, December 12, 1997, at his home.  He had cancer.

         Mr. Townley worked for the Campbell Taggart Bakery Co. in Dallas for 24 years before he retired in May 1994.  He served four years in the Air Force.

         He was born June 2, 1944, in El Dorado, Kansas, the son of Leland O. and Marjorie “Marge” Louise Oliver Townley.  He was graduated with honors from Topeka West High School in 1962, where he played in the band.  He attended Kansas State University before and after his service duty, and graduated with honors in bakery management in 1970.

         He was married to Judy Ann Brous on February 6, 1971, in Dallas.  She survives.

         Other survivors include his parents, Leland and Marjorie Townley, Topeka; and three brothers, Duane O. Townley, Midland, MI, Lawrence E. Townley, The Woodlands, Texas, and Roger R. Townley, Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

         Mr. Townley was cremated.  Internment will be private. Memorial services will be at 3 PM Monday at the Tecumseh United Methodist Church in Tecumseh.
