Gerry J. Rogers

Gerry Jolene Rogers, 59, Topeka, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born Sept. 7, 1944, in Wichita, the daughter of Joseph Newton and Olive Ilene Malone Rogers. Jolene was a member of Wanamaker Road Baptist Church. She graduated from Topeka High School and attended Washburn University. She worked for the federal government in Leavenworth and Kansas City. Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Roy Dean Rogers. Surviving are a sister, Judy Schnacker, and a brother, Bob Rogers, both of Topeka; and a niece, Carey Johnson, and a nephew, Chris E. Schnacker, both of Topeka. Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka. Ms. Rogers will lie in state from 1 until 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Topeka Rescue Mission, 600 N. Kansas Ave., P.O. Box 8350, Topeka, Kan. 66608-0350.
