Althea Helen PEARCE 8/26/43 - 6/18/05 61, passed away after a courageous fight with cancer. Raised in Topeka, Kansas, she enjoyed dancing the Cha-cha, Jitterbug, and doing the Twist. Fate brought young Lieutenant Gary Pearce 2,000 miles from Seattle to Kansas City where he met his future wife. They married and moved to Seattle to raise their four daughters with unconditional love. Having enjoyed working with the public, she worked for the Lin family as a desk clerk at The Ben Carol Motel for over 20 years. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, spending time with her daughters and grandchildren, and watching The Seattle Mariner's win! Althea is survived by her parents, Elmer and Althea Ramseyer of Topeka, KS, her husband of 43 years, Gary Pearce, her four daughters: Hailey Skidmore, Karen Brown, Janice Clark and Jennifer Both, and her nine, greatly adored grandchildren. We will all miss her beautiful smile and boundless love and affection. A Memorial Service will be held at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38103.
