Marilyn Anne Taliaferro

Marilyn Anne Taliaferro, 72, of Topeka, KS died Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. She was born August 18, 1943 in Topeka, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Colvin) McCoy. Marilyn was a member of Mater Dei Assumption Catholic Church. She married Phillip D. Taliaferro on July 7, 1962 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include her children, Amy Taliaferro and Joseph K. Taliaferro, both of Topeka, three brothers, Joseph M. McCoy of Platte City, MO, Patrick McCoy of Southlake, TX, Timothy McCoy of Topeka, two sisters, Janet Zweifel of Centennial, CO, Mary Jo Warner of Topeka, and two grandchildren, Phillip E. Taliaferro and Katherine Anne Taliaferro, both of Topeka. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Maureen Shrimplin. Marilyn will lie in state after 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 6:30 P.M. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery.
