Mary Beth (Mamie) Bean (Lacy)
After having received confirmation from a couple sources we can conclude that Mary Beth (Mamie) Bean (Lacy) passed during the Summer of 2021. Attempts to find an obituary for Mamie were unsuccessful. So here, in Mamie’s own words as she published on our website, is what will constitute as her obituary.
“Married & divorced 3 times. Spent a majority of my adult life as a BW (battered woman). Finally broke away from that when I moved to Jerome, AZ with my 3 children. I tell people I got married, then I got married, then I got married, then I finally got it. Worked at secretarial jobs & publishing, which I loved. Last job was with the Jerome, AZ police department as secretary. Managed to squeeze a little college in while raising one of my grandsons. Retired to Cottonwood, AZ 7 years ago. Live with my kitty, Lucy in an apartment. My patio is visited by lots of wildlife. Loving it. Can't come to the reunion but GOLD BLACK WE'RE BACK OF YOUUUUUUUJ!”
Rest in peace Mamie.

Mamie was a cute ginger haired girl. Always friendly yet a bit shy. I remember her as always sharing a generous smile when we would see each other in the halls, classroom, cafeteria, or wherever we happened upon each other. She was a fun girl and a funny girl with a good sense of humor. When I think of Mamie I think of goodness and warmth. Be happy sweet girl!

Judging by Mamie's profile, she was the definition of a survivor. Sorry she had to leave us so early. As with all our classmates, I regret her passing and hope to see her on the other side. PJA

I loved this girl, Mamie Bean. She was one of my best friends in high school at THS. I wish we could have kept in touch and if I had known about her life maybe I could have helped her. Rest in peace sweet Mamie and know you were loved and missed.
