Beth and I were good friends at THS, and we dated briefly during the summer of 1962.  I was working on the Kansas State Historical Society Archaeology Team, based that summer near Council Grove.  I recall returning to Topeka frequently in the hope of spending more time with Beth.  I'm sure I must have bored her with descriptions of our excavations and the artifacts we were finding.  Since we were headed to separate colleges in the fall, I think we both knew a long-term romance was not in the cards.

I had the opportunity to visit with Beth at our class reunion in 2002.  She was a lovely, caring person whose generosity of spirit extended out into the community in many positive directions.  As her classmates, we were all enriched by her abiding friendship.

Beth was one of my friends at THS during the last 3 years of high school.  Am sorry to hear of her passing as she was one of the nicest people I met there in high school.  Rest in peace, Beth.
