Michael (Mike) Williams

Michael A. (Mike) Williams, 71, of Berryton, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born August 8, 1944 in Topeka, the son of Donald and Marjorie (McKnight) Williams. Mike grew up in Topeka, attending Topeka High School, before enlisting in the Marine Corps where he was stationed at Camp Pendleton. After the service, Mike returned to Topeka where he worked for several car dealerships, including Ed Bozarth. Mike was an auto body repairman and was gifted at his trade, fabricating pieces that no one else would attempt. He built many a hot rod both for himself and others making many friends along the way. Mike married Melody K. Block on December 8, 1962 in California. She survives. Other survivors include his son, Derek and his partner, James Randolph of Tulsa, OK, a granddaughter, Jennika Williams of Topeka, two grandsons, Dayton and Dawson Williams and their mother, Jaime Williams of Gardner, Kansas as well as many dear friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Burial will follow in Lynn Creek Cemetery at Berryton. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the funeral home. The family requests that those attending the service feel free to wear casual comfortable attire.
