Dorman and I became good friends during senior year, when we both served as door proctors.  I developed an appreciation for his skill as a musician as well as his delightful sense of humor.  Classmates may remember how he got permission to set up his band in the front hall after school on Friday afternoons.  I can still recall the energy I felt rolling into the weekend as Dorman and his band rocked the Halls of Troy.

As I prepared to head off to the College of Wooster, I shared with Dorman a recruiting booklet describing the college in some detail.  He looked it over carefully then returned it to me with no comment.  When I asked him for his impression he observed: "Don't see too many of my people." He had a valid point.
