Kenneth F. Plumberg

Kenneth Francis Plumberg, 66, of Topeka, passed away Sunday June 7, 2009 in the Emergency Room at St. Francis Health Center. He was born May 22, 1943 in Topeka the son of Henry Edward and Elizabeth Mary (Stattelman) Plumberg. Kenneth graduated from Topeka High School in 1961. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Kenneth was the warehouse manager for Gardner Floor Covering and was their Oreck repairman. He volunteered for Sheltered Livings Festival of Trees for many years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, current State President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in which he held all other offices prior to becoming president. Kenneth was also a member of Capitol Post #1 of the American Legion holding many offices there and the Patriot Guard. Kenneth was married to Mary Hoover on May 21, 1988 in Topeka. She survives. Other survives include; six children, Brad (Francine) of Kentucky, Nicole of California, David (Pam) and Michael of Topeka, Tanya (Ritchie) of Berryton and Timothy (Stacy) of Topeka, four brothers, Lawrence (Diane) Plumberg of Blue Springs, MO, Jacob Plumberg of Topeka, Michael Plumberg of Silver Lake and Timothy (Bernita) Plumberg of Topeka and four sisters, Patricia Brown of Topeka, Phyllis Bradford of WA, Margaret (James) Ringelman of Topeka and Nancy (Ken) Goetting of Leavenworth. Thirteen grandchildren, Cory, Russ, Dalton, Courtney, Blaine, Caleb, Aspen, Brooke, Josh, Britney, Timothy and Michaela also survive. Mr. Plumberg will lie in state after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church where a parish rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial with military honors will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
