Robert J. Mitchell

         Robert James " Bobby" Mitchell, 59, Topeka, died Saturday, June 19, 2004, at a Topeka health care center.  He was born August 10, 1944, in Topeka, to Robert and Jewel E. Jackson-Bills Mitchell. He attended Topeka public schools, received a bachelor of arts in music from Washburn University and was a professional musician. He was a Vietnam Army veteran. He served as custodian at Washburn University for 24 years. He lived in Topeka all his life.  Mr. Mitchell was a member of the VFW and Asbury-Mount Olive United Methodist Church.

         Survivors include a daughter, Cordelia Frendando Harrison, Aurora, CO  two brothers, Darold Bills and Rodney Bills, both of Topeka; a sister, Lorena Drew, Topeka; and two grand-children.

         Services will be at 11 AM Thursday at Bowser-Johnson Funeral Chapel.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, where family will receive friends after 6 PM.  Burial will be in Topeka Cemetery.
