Mary Dee Gentry (Brown)

Mary Dee Brown, 68, Liberty, Mo., went to be with her Lord surrounded by her family on May 16, 2013, the eve of her birthday. Born to Donald and Carolyn (Stark) Gentry on May 17, 1944, in Topeka, Kan. On March 21, 1981, she married John Brown and together enjoyed 32 years. Mary Dee worked for the Park Hill School District for over 20 years before her retirement in 2003. Mary Dee was an ordained elder, Sunday School Teacher, and very active member of St. Luke Presbyterian Church. Mary Dee was also very active with the Daughters of the American Revolution, serving in many roles with the local chapter. She often volunteered with charity thrift stores. Mary Dee was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, John; her daughter, Erica Rausch; her son, Greg Noller; two step-sons, Scott and Chad Brown; her sister, Barbara (Ed) Carol; her brother, James (Ruth) Gentry; seven grandchildren, Corey, Nicholas, Alyssa, Lexi, Jarret, Sydney, Jake; and her aunt, Merriam Gentry. Memorial services are set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, at St. Luke Presbyterian Church, 4301 NE Vivion Rd., KCMO 64119 with inurnment to follow at the church. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to St. Luke Presbyterian Church. My condolences go out to Mary Dee's family and friends of her passing.  She was a dear friend from high school years at THS, class of 62.  You will be remembered as a good friend.  My blessings to you.
