Ronald E. Flinner

 

       Ronald Eugene Flinner, Sr., 68, Leavenworth, formerly of Scranton, died Friday, June 15, 2012, at his home. He was born February 22, 1944, in Topeka, the son of Paul E. and Rosoma (McFarland) Flinner. Ron graduated from Topeka High School and attended Cornell. He had worked at General Printing and Paper; Safeway Grocery Stores; and retired from Skip’s Thriftway in Carbondale. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4319 (50 years) where he had served as President and Secretary for 10 years; and was a member of Westside Christian Church of Topeka.

       He was married to Linda Lee Jordan on June 23, 1962 at Westside Christian Church, Topeka.  Surviving are his wife Linda of the home; son: Ronald E Flinner, Jr., (Teresa) of Lansing; a daughter: Tamara L. Harris of Ontario, Canada; a sister: Nina K. Peeler of Hankamer, Texas; and four grandchildren: Niccole Ashley Flinner, Christopher Robin Harris, Chelsea Renée Harris, and Nicholas Lee Flinner. He was preceded and death by his parents and a sister, Paula.

       Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, June 22, 2012 at Mount Hope Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment in Mount Hope Mausoleum. Ron will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Thursday, at Penwell Gable Parker-Price Chapel, 245 Northwest Independence Ave., Topeka.
